Website Color Schemes

Sample the colors behind a layout you admire and save them as a scheme.

Capture a scheme you like from a screenshot

When you admire website color schemes, you usually want to know the exact shades that make them work together. Color Identifier lets you lift those colors from an image. Screenshot the layout, open it in the app, and sample each color to capture the scheme as precise, reusable codes.

How to capture a scheme

  1. Take a screenshot of the design you like.
  2. Open Color Identifier and choose From Photo.
  3. Tap each color in the layout, like an eyedropper.
  4. Get the color name plus Hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone codes.

Gather the main shades and you have one of those website color schemes saved as real, accurate colors. Working from real captures means no page source is required, you record the exact shade of each part of the scheme, and you get codes for both screen and print.

Save and reuse your schemes

Website color schemes are most useful when each one stays together. Save your sampled colors as a palette, then export or share the codes. The values are universal, so they work with any design tool, document, or paint range. Save a few schemes and you build a small reference library to draw from on the next project.

Frequently asked questions

Does the app suggest website color schemes for me?

It doesn't generate schemes or read live sites. Color Identifier captures website color schemes from screenshots by reading the exact color at each point you tap.

How many colors can a scheme hold?

As many as you like. Tap each color in a screenshot and save them together so a full scheme stays in one palette.

What codes do I get for each color?

Every color returns Hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone values, so your scheme is ready for screen or print work.
